What are the Core Web Vitals?+
These are Google's three official metrics for measuring the loading experience: LCP (how quickly the main content appears, target under 2.5s), CLS (the visual stability of the page) and INP (how quickly the page responds to clicks). They have been part of Google's ranking criteria since 2021: a slow site loses positions.
What counts as a good speed score for a website?+
Aim for a full load in under 3 seconds on mobile and a PageSpeed score above 90. Between 50 and 89, targeted work is needed. Below 50, the slowness is costing you real customers: every extra second of load time drops conversions by roughly 7%.
Why is my website slow?+
